So this will begin my Tumblr; I created this blog on my computer, but haven’t posted anything yet - until now. My first post was going to be about AB-Inbev’s purchase of Goose Island in March of this year, but I decided to do a “test” post from my iPhone to see how it works out.
I went to the Mets-Braves game at Citi Field lay night. A few of the specialty food places - Shake Shack, Blue Smoke, Taqueria & Box Frites - used to have special beers brewed for each place by Brooklyn Brewery. There is also a Big Apple Brews, but that has been dominated by AB products. I had read that AB basically threatened the stadium ownership - stop using Brooklyn Brewery or we’ll pull all beer and advertising from the stadium (sounds like the crap they pulled on Discovery with Brewmasters if you ask me). So we go to Shake Shack and no more Brooklyn Shackmeister Ale. Now it’s Bud, Bud Light or Goose Island Summertime. I guess the “rumor” was true - no more Brooklyn at Citi Field. It only took 2 years before AB killed Brooklyn’s presence. This is why I hate big beer….that and they put out a far inferior product compared to true craft breweries. I really wanted a beer, and even though it’s an AB product now, I went with the GI Summertime. I guess from now on I’ll have to avoid beer at Citi Field. Thanks a lot AB you big bullies.
And Budweiser was self branded the King of Beers. Well I like to call it the King of Mass produced fizzy yellow water with no taste and virtually no body that’s a pathetic excuse for something they call Beer.
